Police in the village of Hicksville are searching for a suspect in connection with a burglary that took place around 3:15am this (Mon.) morning on North Bryan Street. The 9-1-1 call indicated the suspect was confronted by the homeowner as the subject entered the home. That suspect fled on foot from the residence, which led to a search by local Defiance County law officers and a K-9 unit.
Hicksville Police K-9 tracked the suspect to a residence in the 200 block of West High Street in Hicksville; but the subject was not located. It’s unknown if the suspect then fled in a vehicle, or moved elsewhere. There was also no indication of whether the subject was armed with a weapon.
The suspect in this Hicksville burglary is described as a male, race unknown, light complexion, standing 5’3 to 6-feet, with thin build, a thin mustache, wearing a black sleeveless shirt and red shorts.

Chief Mark Denning of Hicksville is encouraging residents to lock their doors, and be vigilant about suspicious activity; and then contact local law officers.
