ARCHBOLD'S DJ NEWMAN SELECTED IN THE PRO BASEBALL DRAFT ON DAY 2

Former Archbold Bluestreak and 3-sport athlete D.J. Newman has been selected in the second day of the Major League Draft. The Houston Astros tabbed Newman in round 15 as a two-way player, meaning they will look at him to pitch or play outfield.

Newman wrapped up his career at BGSU as an All-American, but coming off a year of injury.   Since then, he entered the transfer portal, and announced he was signing with the University of Tennessee in the SEC.

Now the All-American will have a decision to make: head to pro baseball with the Houston Astros, and work his way through their farm system.  Or stay in college baseball for another year to hone his skills, and try to improve on his draft status for next year.
