Pay raises and contracts were part of the action for the board of education for Defiance City Schools this week. Administrators and confidential employees were approved for 3.25% wage increases for the coming school year, which matches the hike for teachers in the Defiance district. That includes 14 administrators, and 6 confidential staff members; but does not include pay raises for the superintendent or treasurer. Those salary adjustments are made more toward the start of the calendar year.
The Defiance City School Board also went into executive session, and when they returned, the board approved new 4-year contract extensions for Superintendent Bob Morton, and Treasurer Cheryl Swisher.
Superintendent Morton also reported all teaching slots have been filled for the coming year, headed toward late June.
