DEFIANCE CITY SCHOOL BOARD APPROVES FINAL RESOLUTION TO PLACE RENEWAL LEVY

The Defiance City School Board has approved a final resolution to place a renewal levy on the ballot in November.  The emergency levy will be for 5.41 mills, which generates about 1.5 million dollars each year, for operation of Defiance City Schools. It was first passed by voters in 1996, and will be for a five year period. The millage equates to 54-cents per $100,000 of property valuation. This is not a new tax, but rather continues funding for current programs.

The Defiance School Board also approved the 2022 senior class of 179 students for graduation.                  And a high school diploma was awarded to a Vietnam War veteran, who left school early to serve his country. It’s U.S. Army Specialist Joseph E. Kolb, who served from 1967 to 1970.
