VILLAGE OF DESHLER SEEKING PARK IMPROVEMENTS THROUGH GRANTS

The village of Deshler is seeking help in grant dollars to make improvements to their park facilities. A resolution was approved by Deshler Council Monday to apply for financial assistance through the Ohio Natureworks program to construct a shelter-house for Pirate Park on the east side of Deshler. And the community is moving forward with a future walk-bridge project for the Deshler Reservoir Park, with grants likely to be sought. Deshler Council approved resolutions to place two renewal levies on the ballot in November. One would be a half-mill levy for Memorial Field along with Parks and Recreation. The other is a half-mill levy for swimming pool capital improvements.

Deshler Council approved the extension of the local village income tax filings to May 17th to coincide with federal guidelines.

And the village is seeking lifeguards to work at the swimming pool this summer in Deshler. There is info for candidates on the website www.villageofdeshler.com
