WEATHER IS STILL IMPACTING WORK ON CLINTON STREET BRIDGE IN DEFIANCE

There are still some projects to complete before the Clinton Street bridge will be open to traffic in downtown Defiance.ODOT reports weather is again an adversary to the construction. After holding-up work in the river back in the spring, snow and ice are causing issues at the tail-end of the project.

The most recent work on the span has included grinding the concrete deck surface for smoothness. Now this week, grooves will be added to the deck surface for better traction. Some concrete work is also planned for the curbs, sidewalks, and the driveway to Circle K on the north side of the bridge.Traffic signal work will also occur this coming week on the north side at Clinton and East River Drive.ODOT reports, the plan is still to have traffic on the bridge in early December.
