DEFIANCE COMMISSIONERS APPROVE GRANT APPLICATION FOR DT REVITILIZATION

The Defiance County Commissioners have approved a grant application for downtown revitalization in Hicksville through the community development block grant program.If approved, Hicksville would receive $250,000 to help three different companies make upgrades at their business locations.They include the Bridal Village, a coffee shop with apartment above, along with Collins and Guilford Financial Advisors.All three are located on High Street in Hicksville.The grant seeks money to help all three companies with improvements that could include exterior facades (fuh-sahds), mechanical upgrades, and other improvements, while maintaining historical architecture.This is a competitive grant, with other communities in the state submitting projects.Defiance County should have word on their application this fall.

And the update from Defiance County senior services indicates nearly 53,000 meals have been served to senior citizens so far this year.
