DEFIANCE CITY SCHOOL BD. TO CONTINUE NEGOT. WITH CBP GROUP FOR 1918 BLDG.

Following an executive session at their meeting Wednesday night, the Defiance City Schools Board of Education has passed a motion regarding the future of their 1918 building on Arabella Street.The Defiance Board motion indicates they will pursue further negotiations with Community Building Partners, LLC.That’s the group that originally mentioned they wanted to utilize the former school facility for a senior housing development.

The Defiance School Board laid out conditions for the negotiations to continue:Community Building Partners must place $300,000 in an escrow account by April 17th in the event demolition of the structure is needed.

They must also present a final lease agreement for 99 years to the Defiance School Board, before their meeting on April 22nd.

And the CBP group will be given 48 hours in which to commit itself to depositing the funds in question.If they do not commit those funds, the Defiance School Board will withdraw its intent to pursue further negotiations.
