After hearing from the Holgate School Board that the district had made their final offer on a new contract for teachers, the Holgate Teachers Association met in a session Monday and decided to not vote on the contract offer, but to rather authorize a 10-day strike notice. That vote was unanimous by the Holgate teachers, saying there is still work to be done on negotiations. The two sides have been bargaining since last April, with the Holgate School Board issuing their final offer counting base salary, step increases, and column changes. That would have impact 38 teachers. The Holgate Board has indicated this is their final offer, while the teachers want more negotiating sessions to take place.
