OHIO DROPS TO #40 IN HEALTH RANKINGS IN AMERICA

When it comes to overall health, the Buckeye State has slipped toward the bottom in America.   The statistics from 2018 put Ohio at #40 of the 50 states.                Only two states had more drug deaths last year than Ohio.  When it comes to smoking and air pollution, the state ranked #43 and #46.  The Buckeye State also ranked low for their high infant mortality rate and cancer deaths, both at #41 in the nation.                     Ohio was not in the top 10 states in any category.   They did make the top 20 in lower occupational fatalities last year, along with lower incidents of violent crime and uninsured residents.                The Buckeye State is also in the top half of states for primary care physicians and immunizations for T-Dap.             A significant indicator is 12 years ago, Ohio ranked at #26 in the nation.   They have slipped to #40 over that span.
