PUBLIC MEETING ON EVANSPORT WATERLINE TONIGHT

Residents along the Evansport waterline are invited to attend an information meeting tonight regarding options for funding quality improvements to the system.   The Ohio EPA has imposed findings and orders on the Evansport waterline, due to high levels of TTHM’s, which result from water setting in a pipeline for long periods after the chlorination process.            A remedy to these water quality issues is installation of an aeration booster station, that has an estimated price tag of about $870,000.             Some grant money may be available to pay a portion of the project.     But other funding sources may be needed.   Residents can learn more about options by attending tonight’s meeting at the Public Safety Services Building on Mill Street in Defiance.  It will get underway at 6pm.     There are about 90 residents on the Evansport waterline, which is supplied by the village of ARchbold, through a pipeline from CCNO.
