PATRICK HENRY SUPERINTENDENT TO RETIRE

The Patrick Henry school district will begin a search immediately for a new superintendent, after Tom Taylor announced his retirement will take effect at the end of July.   Taylor is stepping down after 22 years at Patrick Henry, which included stints as elementary principal, district treasurer, and most recently-superintendent.   He has 34 years in education.

The Patrick Henry school board approved contracting with the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center to help in the search process for a new superintendent.

The board elected Eric Bostelman to serve as their president for 2018, with Mike Knueven as vice president.   And meetings will remain the 4th Monday of the month for the most part.

The Patrick Henry board has selected Mark Feehan to fill a vacant slot on the board, with the recent resignation of Sarah Dishong.   Feehan will serve the final two years of that term, and would then have to run in November 2019 to retain that seat.

And the Patrick Henry school board approved a resolution to place their emergency levy on the ballot for a vote in May.   The levy currently provides about $747,000 for the district operation.
