SENATOR CLIFF HITE RESIGNS FROM OHIO SENATE SEAT

There’s news from Columbus, that first district state senator Cliff Hite has resigned from the Ohio General Assembly, effective immediately.  Hite of Findlay had served three terms as a state representative, and then was appointed to the Ohio Senate in 2011.  He was in his first full term in the Senate.

The Columbus Dispatch reports Senate President Larry Obhof would initiate a replacement process by the end of this week.  Senator Hite was chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee.  State Representative Rob McColley, when contacted, expressed interest in being a candidate for the Ohio Senate slot.    The first senate district covers 11 counties.
