SUICIDES A CONCERN FOR ADAMS BOARD

There is major concern among officials at the Four County Board of Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services when it comes to suicides in the region.   This year’s rate is likely to surpass the record year of 23 in 2016.  The majority of those victims are middle-age men, and a campaign is underway to let families know there is help available, and depression is treatable.

Posters are up where guns are sold, asking friends to get help for those dealing with depression, including a hot line number.   If you know someone thinking about suicide call 1-800-273-8255.

A special program is planned for survivors of suicide, scheduled for November 18th at St. John Lutheran Church west of Ridgeville Corners, from 11am till 2pm.

And the Four County Adams Board approved funding of $7,500 to the four DARE programs in the region.
