Civilians Battle Cops Over Right To Film Police Activity

The CCRB received 257 complaints over the past 3 years stating that police officers have smacked the phone out of their hands, blocked their view so they can't record what is going on, and threatened them with arrest to keep them from being filmed.

The CCRB did not release a timetable on when, or if the new section would be added to the NYPD Patrol Guide.
