There are plenty of mandates from the state that pile-on expenses for local government.  But the state of Ohio has come through with grant dollars to help pay for a new training program required for all poll-workers at local elections.   All 88 counties, including Henry, Fulton, Defiance and PutnamCounty will receive between $1,800 and $3,000 to train their workers on election day.

Each election, HenryCounty needs 95 to 105 local residents to work a shift from 5:30am till after the polls close at 7:30pm.   Poll workers are paid for the day; and to learn more about this civic opportunity, contact your local board of elections.
