Contracts were a big part of the action for the Napoleon school board of education this week.  The board hired teachers for the upcoming school year; and also accepted the resignation of long-time staff members.  Dan Baer is stepping down at the end of the school year from the guidance department, after 13 years of service to the district.  And LuAnn Gorsuch is resigning from her middle school teaching position after 16 years with Napoleon schools.             Continuing contracts were approved for three teachers in the Napoleon district:  Tara Boyer at Central Elementary, Jeffrey Peters at the middle school, and Jenna Storrer at the high school.

8 other teachers were awarded 3-year contracts, including Sara Dilbone, Holli Horn, Lori Vorwerk, Julia Eberle, Brittany Labie, Jackie Westoven, Kaitlin Helberg, and Yolanda Monnin.

Some retired Napoleon teachers were also approved as tutors in math.  They are Tim Downey, Nancy Hoover and Anne Rausch.

Supplemental coaching contracts were approved for the coming year at Napoleon, and all teachers on staff-remain in their same slots.

Summer school was approved to begin on June 9th, at a fee of $50 per session.            And DECA (decka) members of the business and marketing program were approved for an overnight trip to the national competition in Atlanta from May 2nd through 7th.

The Napoleon school board and residents also received a big thank-you note from 2nd and 3rd grade students at West Elementary, showing their appreciation for funds that helped purchased new computers for those classrooms.
