The HenryCountyHospital has implemented a new system that will provide advanced protection against Medical Identity Theft.

The program is called CrossChex and was installed July 1st.  Henry County Hospital CEO Kim Bordenkircher said she is pleased the State of Ohio is assisting the hospital in safeguarding patients’ records with this system.

By scanning a patient’s finger, CrossChex instantly links the patient to their medical benefits so no one else can use them.  The system never stores or scans a fingerprint, but instead creates a unique ID based on points on your finger to offer protection and security.

The system is voluntary, but HenryCountyHospital recommends it for all patients over 5 years of age.
