The village of Liberty Center is moving closer to drilling test wells for a potential new water source for the community. They have an option to purchase ground in WashingtonTownship where the drilling could take place. Consultants from Egan and Associates report several smaller diameter wells could provide more data than one full scale well. The drilling could take place in the next 2 to 3 months after EPA contacts are made.
Liberty Center Council discussed the clean-up of some properties in the village. They are considering doing the work with village employees and then billing the property owner.
Other dialogue focused on the issue of residents who own cemetery plots, re-selling them to other residents. More paving work is expected on route 109 in LibertyCenter, but no details have been released on the schedule.
And village clerk Sally McEwen will be retiring after 30 years of service to the community on August 18th.
