A waterline replacement project that will utilize grant dollars in the city of Napoleon on Hobson Street this year, was approved for construction by Henry County Commissioners today (Tues.). The board approved the plans and specs so bidding can get underway, with an estimated cost of $300,000.
Henry County Commissioners also awarded bids for the demolition of 8 homes around the county that are in bad shape. Panning excavating of Deshler was awarded the project along state route 18 in Hamler. Punches Excavating will tackle house demolitions on road D near Hamler, and on route 281 near Malinta. D&R Demolition of Archbold was awarded projects on East Clinton in Napoleon, N. Perry Street in Napoleon, and on road X in Ridgeville Corners. The final two home demolitions will be structures on Kaufman Street in Holgate, and on Euclid Avenue in Napoleon. The bids range from a low of $3,400 for a demolition in Hamler, to a high of over $10,000 to bring down a house on North Perry in Napoleon. Bids for 11 more old homes will be going out in the next few weeks.
And the Henry County Commissioners went into executive session to discuss compensation of personnel; but no action was taken.
