A local contractor earned the bid for the Henry County Courthouse elevator replacement project.   The Henry County Commissioners awarded that bid to the Mel Lanzer Company, which was the lowest bidder of four, at a total cost of nearly $249,500.  Money from the local revolving loan fund has been set-aside to pay for this project which will take several months to complete.


                                    Commissioners signed a lease agreement for space in the Oakwood Office Complex with the Henry County HARC group, at a cost of $700 per month, beginning in January of next year.


The HenryCounty board authorized a legal notice to announce they are accepting applications for the donation of the gazebo located beside the merchants building at the fairgrounds, to a non-profit organization exempt from taxation.


And the HenryCounty landfill had its biggest month of the year, as a transfer station in May, with nearly 215 tons of material taken in.  Over 83 tons of tires were also shredded for recycling last month.    The landfill offers a minimum cost of $15 for 500 pounds of material dropped off, or 60-dollars per ton.
