A ground breaking ceremony was held Wednesday evening, signaling the kickoff of construction for a new EMS facility for the South Joint Ambulance District on the east edge of Hamler.  That event followed the regular meeting of the board last night, in which a time-line for the project was laid out.  Construction is expected to wrap-up by mid-February 2015.

The South Joint Ambulance District in HenryCounty covered 2,156 miles in their rescue runs and transports during the month of April, with diesel fuel costs topping $875 for the month.
