A consortium of college students, and local health providers in Defiance is making health care very affordable for local residents.   It’s called the ‘Defiance Cares- Free Clinic’; and it just recently celebrated its 3rd anniversary.   This clinic provides free primary health care to residents in DefianceCounty who have no medical insurance, or who have a minimum deductible of $5,000 through their health coverage.

In July, the Defiance Cares-Free Clinic served its 300th patient.  The partnership involves MercyDefianceHospital, Pro-MedicaDefianceRegionalHospital, Mercy Defiance Clinic, and DefianceCollege’s non profit organization, called Project 701.

The clinic is open the third Saturday of each month, from 9am till noon on Ralston Avenue in Defiance.
